Piano Chair Boxes
To adjust the height of your piano chair or bench
Advantages over adjustable piano stools: if you have
several people
using the same piano it's easy to see how many wood planks/blocks to
stack under the chair for each person. And this should be very much
cheaper.
Getting the right height is VITAL for good piano technique and avoiding
injury (such as RSI).
Here are some tips if you want to make one of these:
- Make it out of the lightest wood you can find so
it's
easy to move around.
- Make it wider than your current chair to accommodate
bigger chairs you may have in future.
- Make it deeper than you currently need in case you
need
to elevate you chair higher sometime, or in case you get a chair which
is a different height.
The dark brown planks shown below are harder and thinner, they give
fractional
graduations and protect the thicker planks, which are a softer wood.
